Yes, it can, as some modern sofas have built-in drawers like ottomans. Keep your magazines, books, newspapers and the like in it. Toys can, similarly be stored in the drawers. Modern entertainment furniture provides storage space. They have drawers and shelves where you can store not just your television, DVDs, CDs, gaming devices but also books, DVDs, decorative pieces, etc. Coffee tables, likewise, have drawers and shelves. There are some where you can slide the top showing you storage spaces underneath it. It does not matter if you choose a wooden or glass coffee table since both have this feature of a shelf and/or drawer. Have a bench in your living room. You can put decorative boxes under the bench for some more items left in the family room. Label the boxes for easy retrieval of things. Get a corner table with drawers and shelves. Put them in between chairs so your guests may have units where they can temporarily store their things. If you have lots of magazines and journals, get yourself a magazine rack to keep them organized. Keep your books in a bookshelf. Place it near the love seat with a stand lamp beside it to make your leisure more comfortable and enjoyable. For the convenience of your guests, provide a coat and shoe rack. It only takes creativity, imagination, and resourcefulness in having a storage area in your living room. You will get the thrill of your furniture and at the same time use them for other purposes such as storing various household items.
